Louis-Joseph Soulas (1905-1954) is a French engraver well-known all over the world whose work is principaly composed of many illustrations of books and splendid engraving in which he praises his native Beauce.
"Renewing but transposing in another field, the tillage farmer's gesture, Soulas, with the same patience, the same obstinacy, the same regard for a well-done work, has cut furrows in the engraver plate where has born a splendid harvest of images."
Jean Vallery-Radot (1890-1971), Conservateur en Chef du Cabinet des Estampes à la Bibliothèque Nationale - Paris, France
